I am a born and raised Londoner. I live with my big boisterous Huskita puppy who is 10 months old, called Teddy (Theodore if he’s naughty). I’ve been working in the Fashion Industry for well over a decade – I now teach Fashion Marketing at London College of Fashion and do some consultation/content creation work alongside that.
Having worked in Fashion and beauty, such as skincare and hair, has always been important to me. Not in an exterior-only way but also internally. I love doing yoga, reformer Pilates, and hiking but I also LOVE food. So it’s always been a focus on internal nourishment for me. I enjoy self-care Sundays and always try to do a hair and face mask.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE TEXTURE OF YOUR HAIR?
My hair is a tricky texture – I am of mixed ancestry and all my family members have thick hair. Mine however is wavy/curly but fine. This means I have the usual curly girl issues such as frizz and a hatred for humidity. I need to always ensure I have a thick conditioner and something after washing to define curls. I've been losing hair like crazy since my early twenties, which I thought was down to stress and diet.
HOW DID YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR HAIR BEFORE THE INTRODUCTION OF THE INNATE LIFE PRODUCTS?
I would try any herbal or cosmetic brand recommended and tried hot oil treatments, but nothing really worked or stuck. Biotin vitamins made me breakout and hairy in all the wrong places and did little for my head hair.
WHAT MADE YOU SEEK OUT THE INNATE LIFE PRODUCTS? HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE COMPANY?
I am an OG Innate Lifer so to speak – I came across the brand at its very inception, when there were less than 1,000 followers on Instagram. I don’t know what made me buy products but I think I liked the fact it wasn’t oil but rather a tub, and it had some herbal ingredients I knew were great for hair alongside some others I had never heard of.
WHAT SETS THE INNATE LIFE APART FROM OTHER COMPANIES IN THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY?
I think the results speak for themselves – also the brand has expanded at the right rate without stepping away from their original starting products. This works great. There is still a relatability, honesty and authenticity to the company. I trust they are doing the best for hair care without an ulterior agenda.
WHAT IS YOUR HAIRCARE ROUTINE NOW?
From The Innate Life, my core must-haves are the Scalp Treatment + Neroli Hair Primer. I love putting this on after my hair has been washed to neutralize hard water. I spritz a little too generously and comb through with a wide tooth comb.
I used the original Scalp Treatment but prefer the Problematic Scalp Treatment more. I use this once a week by sectioning my hair and then massaging it in. I like to pop on a shower cap and wait an hour. I am definitely not one of those sleep-with-it-on types (I wish I was though!). I don’t always double shampoo but my hair is quite dry. Either way I only shampoo my scalp and use the suds from there to wash the length of my hair.
On my list currently is the Rosemary Scalp Treatment as it's a much easier bottle to use. I am also lusting after the Charcoal Scalp Detox as I only wash my hair once a week or twice at the most if I have an event. This means that the products I put in to sleek my hair when it's in a bun or clipped up for work has built up over the week.

HOW DID YOU SEE YOUR HAIR CHANGE AFTER USING THE INNATE LIFE PRODUCTS?
I saw hair growth and baby hair – that's a big thing. I saw a decrease in hair loss. I still have it but much less and I stress less about it too as I know I am growing new hair. I find it grows better now without split ends.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE FOR YOU TO SEE RESULTS?
It definitely took a while for me to find the routine that works for me. Also I know everyone says this but I promise you – CONSISTENCY IS KEY! I saw results within about 2-3 months after I started being consistent and using the products EVERY time I washed my hair.
WHICH IS YOUR FAVOURITE PRODUCT AND WHY?
The Problematic Scalp Treatment hands down as this was the game changer for me and my scalp. I could FEEL it working and SEE the difference.

Everyone. You just have to find which of the range fits your routine and hair type.
