MEET JESSICA

I am an artist. I have a BFA. I work in an office by day and teach painting at a paint bar by night. I met my husband in college in 2006 and we got married in 2011. I relocated from CT to his hometown in NY. I'm a mom to an amazing 4-year-old. I try to show him a healthy lifestyle and teach him to always try things and be open to change. I eat pretty healthy and try to work out regularly. I love essential oils (so many uses!) and I love the outdoors/nature. I try to be aware of what I put in my body but the past year I've been more aware of what I use on my body as well.

My passion is art. I love painting and drawing. I specialize in portraits, people and animals, but I also love painting nature, outer space and so much more. I also am very into fitness. Working 2 jobs and raising a 4-year-old doesn't always allow me to do as much as I used to but I still try to have a good balance in my life by eating healthy and working out.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE TEXTURE OF YOUR HAIR?

My hair is very thick and coarse. I've always hated my hair growing up. It was always very dry, frizzy and heavy.

HOW DID YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR HAIR BEFORE THE INTRODUCTION OF THE INNATE LIFE PRODUCTS?

I used everyday hair products like Suave or Garnier Fructis out of habit, like a lot of my friends have used. I never really thought twice about it. I also never really felt they did much for me. I've had a dry, itchy scalp and dandruff for as long as I can remember. No product I've ever tried (and I've tried a LOT) has ever helped with this problem. I did not like this routine. It was more because it was just that – a routine – rather than because it was working. I've tried so many products over the years but none have stuck out to me. WHAT MADE YOU SEEK OUT THE INNATE LIFE PRODUCTS? HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE COMPANY?

I was discussing my love of essential oils and using natural remedies with my friend Amanda, my co-worker at the paint bar, and she took out her Rose Hair Elixir. That is when I was introduced to this amazing company. She put the oil in my hair and the first thing that hit me was the amazing, alluring, feminine scent! I wish you had this in a perfume; I have to confess I do dab it on my neck and wrists after putting it in my hair. I was so intoxicated by the smell, I couldn't believe this was also a product with no chemicals, which was a huge bonus. I immediately purchased a bottle. I used it daily and 2 things really impressed me. First, my hair felt soft, which is not a normal thing for me. Whether I ironed it flat or used it on my damp curls, my hair felt better. Also I can't wash my hair more than every 3 days or it gets too dry. So using this daily, I never felt any build up of product. It never felt greasy. My hair soaked it up and felt soft, and when I reapply the next day, it doesn't feel heavy or loaded with product.

WHAT SETS THE INNATE LIFE APART FROM OTHER COMPANIES IN THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY?

It's all natural. It's not loaded with chemicals and it also smells good and works! Other natural products I've tried smell terrible, or just don't get the job done. The Innate Life works and smells great. I also love the simple packaging as well. It sells itself.

HOW DID YOU SEE YOUR HAIR CHANGE AFTER USING THE INNATE LIFE PRODUCTS?

As I mentioned, my hair felt softer after just using the Rose Hair Elixir. Then I tried the Shampoo and Conditioner (discontinued) and loved them. I used the Scalp Treatment and after it helped my dandruff and itchy scalp, it officially sealed it in for me that I would forever be a customer.

WHICH IS YOUR FAVOURITE PRODUCT AND WHY?

It's a big tie between the Rose Hair Elixir and the Scalp Treatment but if I had to pick, I'd say the Scalp Treatment for Dry Scalp. I have never ever found anything that has relieved my itchy scalp and dandruff. I've tried natural products, Head & Shoulders, oil treatments, olive oil and coconut oil, etc. I received the Scalp Treatment and began applying. Not only did I love the earthy scent but right away I loved the cooling, soothing sensation it gave my scalp. Oh my gosh! Ah-mazing relief.
I left it on for 5 hours and I didn't want to wash it out, it felt so good! After the first treatment, I noticed relief, and after the second, I had no dandruff for the first time in YEARS! I use it every week, sometimes every other week. Sometimes I will lazily wash it out and put my hair in a bun, just so that some product is left on my scalp and hair the next day and I feel that gives extra hydration. I love, love, love this stuff and I can't believe it took me so long to find it.
I have been raving about this find to friends along with the Rose Hair Elixir which I am obsessed with! I have one bottle at home and one I carry in my purse. It's a huge bonus that these products are natural as well so I don't have to worry about chemicals. I have been made very aware the last few years about all the chemicals out there in products that people use everyday and it is really disturbing. I can feel great knowing these products are not only totally natural but smell great and actually work.

WHO WOULD YOU RECOMMEND THESE PRODUCTS TO?

Everyone! Give it a chance and I promise you will never go back. All these products with chemicals end up drying your hair and covering your hair. They do not make your hair healthy. The Innate Life uses natural ingredients that nourish your hair and actually make it healthier.

It's all natural products that actually work. Plain and simple (but surprisingly hard to find)! Since I've been more and more aware of what I put in and on my body, these products were an amazing find. I am so happy my friend introduced me to The Innate Life and I'm so excited to try more of what they offer. :)
